Monday 30th May – walk *** – Landguard Nature Reserve circuit – sunny
start then cloudy and chilly.
The day started well getting ‘Wordle’ in 3 and finding out I had two
pics in the local paper (EADT) sunny too. I got some nice photos of some
bees enjoying Mags new lavender plants to send to the TV weather before
doing my exercises in the garden where the sun disappeared and became
chilly:( Mag had bought a large second mirror from Manning’s amusements
end so our plan was to pick that up and take a picnic to Landguard Nature
Reserve for a walk. Being half term, it was very busy along the seafront
but with the mirror picked up to headed to Landguard hoping it would be
much quieter! We got a parking spot just as it started to rain, luckily it
was short lived so we set off, quickly spotting loads of linnets and
rabbits with a huge container ship coming into the docks! There was a large
flock of starlings with young as we approached the jetty for lunch. We
enjoyed out yummy salad but it was too chilly to sit there too long so set
off back through the reserve. Despite having an injection in my heel it has
not worked and I am still finding walking painful and a couple of miles
seems to be my limit at the moment:( No sooner had we got home than the sun
came out for a bit, well that’s sods law!
